Candel is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing off-the-shelf, multimodal biological immunotherapies designed to trigger an individualized, systemic anti-tumor immune response. Candel Therapeutics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Clinical and Commercial Supply Chain to oversee and manage all aspects of our commercial supply chain operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our products to market, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance, and driving continuous improvement in supply chain processes. This role requires a proven track record in product launch, supply chain planning, operations, supplier and vendor management, artwork, and serialization management.

This role requires a proven track record in product launch, supply chain planning, operations, supplier and vendor management, artwork, and serialization management.
What you will be responsible for:
In this role, you will build and drive the supply chain strategy for both clinical and future commercial programs.
- Develop and implement the overall clinical and commercial supply chain strategy in alignment with Candel Therapeutic’s business goals.
- Manage the development and qualification of both Clinical and Commercial Label and Package Design
- Lead CMO vendor selection process for label and packaging partners
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability, quality and cost-effectiveness and mitigate risks associated with supply disruptions
- Implement and manage processes for artwork and serialization to ensure compliance and product traceability
- Lead planning activities to ensure accurate and timely availability of products across the platform
- Perform Shipping validation studies in support of BLA
- Manage third party storage sites, and the delivery of clinical materials to active clinical sites
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance compliance productivity and cost-effectiveness
- Key part of a decade-long goal ending in PRODUCT LAUNCH!
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with 7-10 years of experience in a highly regulated environment, particularly cGMP
- Previous experience in designing commercial packaging for biologics
- Previous experience managing CMO for label and packaging activities, including DSCSA requirements
- Ideally, previous experience supporting IND and BLA development and submissions
- A love for solving puzzles and troubleshooting equipment issues that can at times be quite complex.
- Strong communication skills, excitement to work in a team-based format, and a willingness to be hands-on and pitch in where needed.
